Denisas Kolomyckis

AUTUMN 2025 | October

Denisas is a multidisciplinary artist working across performance, theatre/dance, sculpture, and installation. He approaches the body as both a fragile and political space, constructing a dialogue between tension and release, and between what is visible and hidden through slow, deliberate movement and sculptural gestures. His work invites us to rethink the boundaries of the body as a field of expression and transformation.

Born in Lithuania, Denisas’s practice traces the intersections of identity, gender, justice, and vulnerability, weaving together personal and collective experiences. His poetic yet critical language engages with the emotional and political layers of contemporary society, revealing subtle gestures of resistance and care.

During his residency at DAA, Denisas will continue his research on the memory of the body, the transformation of social identities, and the creative potential of fragility. Through his ongoing project, Pirate of the Capital, he examines the hierarchical structures of cultural institutions using strategies of play and re-imagination — bringing to Bodrum an inquiry into art’s healing, transformative, and connective power.
