Kuş Kolektifi is an interdisciplinary collective that seeks to reconnect the relationship between humans and nature through sound, music, storytelling, performance, and moving image. Bringing together different artistic practices, the collective creates shared spaces for listening, research, experimentation, and collaborative production.
During their residency at DAA, from May 18 to June 14, Kuş Kolektifi brings together nine artists for an interdisciplinary research and production process moving between theatre, music, performance, film, and narrative.
Throughout their time at DAA, the collective listens closely to the bird sounds, traces, and stories of the surrounding landscape. Their research includes birdwatching, field recordings of sound and image, and the development of written material. Alongside online encounters with birdwatchers, these observations contribute to the early structure of the collective’s first theatre project, which begins to take shape at DAA.
As the residency develops, the process expands into music production, improvisational performances, visual research, short film, and storytelling. Inspired by the birdlife surrounding DAA, the collective explores disappearing sounds, shared memory, and the ways artistic practice can contribute to rethinking our relationship with the natural world.

As part of their residency at DAA, Kuş Kolektifi presented a live performance during DAA’da Bahar, bringing elements of their ongoing research into a shared encounter with the audience.
The performance brought together bird sounds recorded across different regions of Türkiye with the sounds of disappearing and lesser-heard instruments, electronic textures, live instrumentation, and improvisation.
With bird recordings by Yaz Güvendi, ruzba by Murat Küçükarslan, and electronic sound and percussion by Akın Orbay, the performance invited listeners on a layered journey through the sounds of birds inhabiting different habitats, including species facing the threat of extinction.
Through this work, Kuş Kolektifi seeks to make disappearing sounds audible and visible, contribute creatively to conversations around nature conservation, and reconsider the relationship between humans and the natural world through the connective possibilities of art.
