Noor Unnahar is a Pakistani poet and visual artist whose practice moves between poetry, visual storytelling, memory, and the intimate textures of everyday life.

Rooted in her South Asian heritage, Noor’s work explores the ways language, memory, and the body carry personal and inherited histories. Her practice often turns toward the beliefs held within domestic life, superstition, grief, womanhood, and joy, tracing how these experiences are passed between generations and become embedded in our sense of self.

Alongside her visual practice, Noor is the author of Yesterday I Was the Moon and Find Your Voice: A Guided Poetry Journal. Across writing and image-making, she creates a language that is both deeply personal and connected to wider questions of belonging, inheritance, and identity.

During her residency at DAA, Noor will continue her research around memory, language, and the body, allowing these themes to unfold through the slower rhythms of the surrounding landscape. Her time at DAA offers a space for writing, observing, gathering, and developing new connections between text, image, personal memory, and place.

Through this process, Noor approaches the residency as an open period of reflection and experimentation, allowing new stories and forms to emerge through encounters with the landscape, everyday life, and the time spent at DAA.
